“マサチューセッツ工科大学のYoel Fink氏が開発したこの繊維は太さ数百マイクロメートルで、8つの半導体素子を4つずつ組にした光学センサーが練り込まれています。これを縦糸・横糸に使って布を織り上げることで感光素子が網の目を描くように張り巡らされ、布全体をデジタルカメラのCCDのように使うことが可能になります。
繊維の中心を取り囲むように8つの素子が配置されている。”
